Delivery Driver FAQ

How do I log in?
Go to getfood.com.au/drivers, search for the restaurant you drive for, and select it. Enter your name and the PIN the restaurant gave you. If the restaurant has a QR code posted instead, you can scan that directly — both ways lead to the same login.

Do I need to log in every time?
No. Once you’re logged in on a device, it stays logged in for 12 hours. If you’re logged out and can’t find the QR code, use getfood.com.au/drivers instead — it also remembers the restaurant you picked last time, so it’s a two-tap return after the first time.

Why can’t I claim this order — the button says “Not ready yet”?
The restaurant has accepted the order and is preparing it, but it isn’t ready for pickup yet. It shows up early so you can see what’s coming, but you can only actually claim it once the restaurant marks it ready — claiming jumps it straight to “out for delivery,” so it can’t happen before the food actually exists.

I claimed the wrong order by mistake — what do I do?
Tap “Wrong order? Hand it back” — it’s only there for the first 30 seconds after claiming. After that it disappears and can’t be used, because by then you’re expected to be underway. This is only for mis-taps, not for a delivery you can’t finish partway through — if something genuinely goes wrong mid-delivery, call the restaurant directly, the app can’t reassign an order that’s already been physically collected.

I didn’t get a notification for a new order.
Push notifications rely on your phone actually delivering them, which some phones (Samsung especially) can block in the background to save battery, even when notifications are switched on in the app. Check your phone’s own Settings → Battery (or Apps → your browser → Battery) and make sure it’s not set to “sleep” or “optimise” that app — that’s usually what’s actually blocking it, not the app itself failing to send.

When does the customer get told their order is on the way?
A short delay after you claim it — not the instant you tap Claim. That’s deliberate: if you claimed the wrong one and hand it back within the 30-second window, the customer never gets a false “on the way” message for nothing.

How do I mark an order delivered?
Once you’ve got it, tap “Mark delivered” on that order’s card. That’s what finishes it and moves it off your active list.

Can I see what I’ve delivered today?
Yes — “My deliveries today” at the bottom of the page, with a running count. Note this resets if you log out and back in during your shift, since it’s tied to your current login, not a permanent record.

Who do I contact if something’s wrong with an order, a payment, or my access?
The restaurant you drive for — they control your PIN, your access, and your working arrangement. GetFood provides the app itself but isn’t part of that relationship; see the Driver Terms & Conditions for how that’s split.
