Driver Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to delivery drivers who use the GetFood.com.au driver app to claim and deliver orders for a restaurant on our platform (“the Platform”). It explains what information we collect from you as a driver and how we handle it. Note that your relationship as a driver is with the restaurant you drive for, not with GetFood.com.au directly — GetFood provides the technology restaurants use to manage deliveries.

1. Information We Collect

  • Your name, as entered when logging in to a restaurant’s driver panel.
  • Login PIN, provided to you by the restaurant you drive for (GetFood does not assign or manage individual driver accounts or passwords).
  • Push notification details, if you choose to enable order alerts — this allows your device to receive a notification when there’s a delivery available.
  • Delivery activity, including which orders you claim and when you mark them delivered, so the restaurant can track deliveries and you can see your own delivery history.
  • Device and technical data, such as IP address and browser/device type, collected automatically as part of normal web server operation.

As part of claiming a delivery, you will see the customer’s name, phone number, and delivery address for that specific order — this is necessary to complete the delivery and is only shown once you’ve claimed that order.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

  • Let you log in to and use the driver panel for the restaurant you drive for.
  • Send you order alerts, if enabled.
  • Let the restaurant see delivery activity for accountability and coordination.
  • Keep the driver panel secure and working correctly.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your name and delivery activity are visible to the restaurant you’re logged in for. We do not share your information with other restaurants, other drivers, or third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Your login session is temporary and expires automatically. Delivery activity history is retained by the restaurant for their own records.

5. Your Rights

If you reside in Australia, under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to access and correct your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). For questions, contact: support@getfood.com.au

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the driver features on our Platform change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
